Any child in the town of East Bridgewater in grades 2-8 may register to play youth basketball in East Bridgewater. Children in grades 2-3 are only permitted to play in the town league. Once they are in grades 4-8, they have the opportunity to play in the travel league. To ensure that you select the best league to play in, read the descriptions of each league below. Once you have decided on the league that is best for you, fill out the registration form and return it to the league.
The East Bridgewater Youth Basketball Town league is open to grades 2-8 and is based upon equal playing time. All the games are played in East Bridgewater
at either the high school or middle school depending on the division.
3rd/4th grade town teams are instructional with controlled scrimmages to better
develop your child’s skills and 5th/6th grade and 7th/8th grade town
teams play refereed games. The cost for the second grade division is $40, whereas the cost for all other divisions is $80.
TRAVEL LEAGUE
Travel league is competitive, which will not guarantee equal playing time.
There is 1 team selected for each grade (4th-8th) for boys and girls.
There are tryouts to determine who makes the team (coach determines number
of players to carry on team). If you sign up for travel, you will be notified when the tryout dates will be. In addition, tryout dates will be posted on the website. All away games will be played in surrounding towns and home
games at the East Bridgewater High School. Travel fees for all ages for the 2009-2010 season are $160 plus any uniform expenses. The family cap does not apply toward travel fees.
